AMSOIL is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of the information provided by our customers. Our Privacy Policy was developed to help you understand the types of information we might collect when you visit our websites or interact with us in other ways. Purpose of Data Collection

AMSOIL collects information from individuals who engage with us on the Internet via our websites. We also collect data from individuals who request more information, those who subscribe to our publications, download additional information from our websites, or interact with us on social media. Additional information is also requested from anyone who subscribes to services we provide. This information is gathered for the purposes of enhancing the customer experience on websites, and to continually improve the quality of our products and services for our customers. AMSOIL does not sell this information to outside parties at any time for any reason. Additionally, users can adjust and remove information at their own discretion at any time by selecting the “Unsubscribe” or “Update my preferences” link included in every email.

Types of Information Gathered

Personal Information You Provide

You provide most such information when you search for a product, communicate with us by email, complete a questionnaire or request information. As a result of those actions, you might supply us with such information as your name, address, telephone number and email address, and/or email addresses of your associates and other people with whom you share our content.

Non-Personal Information

Examples of non-personal information we passively collect and analyse include navigational information, such as the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; computer and connection information, such as browser type, version and time zone setting; browser plug-in types and versions; operating system and platform; the full Uniform Resource Locator (URL) clickstream to, through and from our website, including date and time; cookie number (when applicable); and pages/products you viewed or searched for during your visit. Mobile Device Information

Most mobile devices provide users with the ability to disable location services. These controls are often located in the device’s settings menu. AMSOIL uses reasonable electronic and procedural measures to protect personal information under our control against loss or unauthorized access.  However, no Internet transmission or data storage system can provide absolute security, and we cannot provide a guarantee in this regard.

International Transfer of Information

Your information will be maintained on a database within or outside the European Economic Area (EEA), and AMSOIL INC., 925 Tower Road, Superior, Wisconsin 54880, USA will act as data controller.  To facilitate our global operations, we may transfer and access personal information provided from customers outside the United States to countries other than that in which the information was originally collected, including countries outside the EEA.  Those countries may not have the same legal data protections as the country in which you provided the information initially. Requests received from international customers will be processed by the AMSOIL International department and may be fulfilled by the AMSOIL International distributor network. Any transfer of personal information as it pertains to their services will fall under third-party privacy policies, which are created and maintained in accordance with the local laws or regulations of their respective territories.  By submitting data on our websites, you provide explicit consent to such transfers, including international transfers.

Information from Children

AMSOIL does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 years of age.  Should you believe we may have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it.

Retention Period

We will retain your personal information for as long as is necessary to complete the stated purposes of this Privacy Policy, unless a greater retention period is mandated or allowed by law.

Sensitive Information

AMSOIL does not seek sensitive information from visitors, concerning matters such as race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, political opinions, physical or mental health, or membership in trade unions.  Your provision of any such information of your own volition constitutes consent to use such information in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Managing Your Personal Information

If you provide us with your personal information, you have the following rights with respect to that information:

  • to review the user information that you have supplied to us;
  • to request that we correct any errors, outdated information or omissions in user information that you have supplied to us;
  • to request that your user information not be used to contact you; and,
  • to request that your user information be removed from any solicitation lists that we use.

AMSOIL Anti-SPAM Policy

Our Privacy Policy requires that every email sent from AMSOIL have an “opt-out” mechanism and other required information. To opt out of individual newsletters please use the Unsubscribe link included in the email.

Policy Updates

AMSOIL may periodically revise this Privacy Policy at its discretion.  We advise you to check back from time to time in order to review any revisions that may have been made.  The effective date of this Privacy Policy is indicated above.
